It Is Back

"Pro Football."

I put those words in parentheses, because what the NFL promotes these days hardly resembles the professional football of the past.

My all-time favorite player, Chuck Cecil (Strong Safety for the Packers, Cardinals, Oilers and barely the Browns) looked like this after almost every game

One of the hardest hitters to ever play the game, he wouldn't last a post-game in today's NFL. He'd have to carry complimentary crying towels to hand out to opposing receivers in today's environment. Players played the game to win, at any cost, back in the late 1980s-early 1990s when Cecil dominated his portion of the field.

He's been on Jeff Fisher's coaching staff with the Tennessee Titans for years. Most of those years, the Titans have been really good on defense. I truly hope Cecil gets a Head Coaching gig someday. Don't know if he's got the head or personality for it, but you can guarantee he's tough enough.
Enjoy the season, folks.
